about
This song is being released in memory of Will Acres to raise awareness of the devastating disease Pulmonary Hypertension.
Will was diagnosed in September 2016 with Idiopathic Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (IPAH). His health deteriorated dramatically and he urgently needed a double lung and heart transplant, which he had in December 2018. Tragically there were complications and he lost his battle at the age of 22 years, 1st February 2018.
Music was Will's passion! He was an amazing DJ, music producer and still completed his degree at BIMM London, while undergoing treatment for this rare disease. This song was written with childhood friend Molly Peel and all funds raised will be going directly to Pulmonary Hypertension Association UK (PHA UK).
lyrics
Verse 1:
You were my one and only, all that I need and more
My shelter from the rain, you kept me from the storm
The time we spent together, gone in a flash
Minutes to hours, rushing back
You had my heart in your grasp, I never thought
This love wouldn't last, I run to your door
Around these other people, I'm not myself
Trying to hide the fact
Pre-chorus:
Those were the days
That I was with you
The sun would set
And leave a bright moon
Chorus:
Those were the days.
Sing about you sing with you.
Back in the day.
Sing about sing with you.
Verse 2:
I understand how you, are moving on
I would forgive you if, she's the one
The words you said to me, on that night
I know you're struggling it'll be alright
You've gone your own way and, I'll go mine
You'll never know in life, what you might find
Sometimes the one is there and, you don't know
I guess it's time for me to grow
Pre-chorus:
Those were the days
That I was with you
The sun would set
And leave a bright moon
Chorus:
Those were the days.
Sing about you sing with you.
Back in the day.
Sing about sing with you.
Bridge:
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Sing about you, sing with you
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Sing about you, sing with you
Chorus:
Those were the days.
Sing about you sing with you.
Back in the day.
Sing about sing with you.
